What is Google AdSense?

Pay Per Click - Google AdSense

Google is more than just the world’s largest search engine. It is also the largest and most significant deliverer of pay per click advertising. Google AdSense is free for website and bloggers to join and display ads on your website. It is highly unlikely that you’ve never come across a site that displays their ads.

My Personal History with Google AdSense

I have managed many websites with AdSense. These have ranged from small websites that have started out on their growth journey to corporate giants. The smaller sites would make just over $150 per year. However, the more traffic that a website gets the greater the income. I’ve helped integrate Google AdSense onto a professional sports team’s website and because of its popularity among locals the site raked in thousands of dollars a month.

AdSense is definitely a good product for those who can get something out of it. If it’s just a small amount of money it like it was like my first experience, it’s better than nothing. This is especially true because it takes care of itself, for the most part. However, be warned, that this works only if you’re running the type of website that the program is good for. If that’s not you then you need to weigh the pros and the cons.

Key Features

A Simple Revenue Stream

The primary benefit of Google AdSense for website/blog owners is that it is a simple revenue stream. The level of income you earn is determined by many factors. These factors include how much traffic your site generates, the amount the advertiser pays per click, etc. Advertisers pay greater amounts for competitive keywords. Furthermore, the more likely your site is to generate leads (clicks) the greater the income per click.

Payments and Thresholds

With AdSense, you are paid monthly provided the level of income that you generate meets their minimum threshold ($100). This is a boon if you rake in the traffic but if you don’t generate traffic nearly as quickly it can take a very long time before you see any revenue. For example, my very first website generated $170 worth of income over the first year of its existence. Comparatively speaking there are websites out there that easily generate this in a day!

Customisation

One of the strengths of AdSense’s customization is the that it enables website managers to choose what color ads they would prefer to run. This allows you to create an attractive contrast of color or something that blends in. In the past, banner advertisements have often looked garish and degraded the visual appeal of a website. This, however, does take a little bit of time. But there are how-to guides to assist you in the process.

Statistical Analysis

Finally, Google AdSense has the most statistically advanced system of any PPC provider. If you’re the type who prefers a hands-on approach then you can log in to your Google account and get an array of visitor and revenue statistics. Getting this information is easy but it’s not something that you need to keep an eye on. However, you can use it to better optimize AdSense for your website. Finally, it’s important to remember that there is never a one size fits all approach to AdSense design. Therefore, I recommend that you keep testing it until you find what is the right fit for you.

Google AdSense – Pros and Cons

AdSense Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • It’s simple to use – with easy to understand guides and many communities contributed video tutorials it is simple to install and even easier to use. There is no daily time investment in having AdSense run on your website unless you want to dedicate time to trying different strategies and keeping up to date on your statistics.
  • You can run ads on multiple websites on the same AdSense account – this is fantastic if you own and manage more than one website. It also makes it easier for you to meet the payout thresholds.
  • High level of customization – enables you to customize the look and size of ads that appear on your site so that they blend in and look better. This takes away their traditionally garish appearance.

Cons:

  • Open to click fraud – this is where you or even a competitor clicks on the same ad multiple times every day. If this happens you are the one that gets shut down. This includes if somebody is doing it underhanded against you to get you banned.
  • It leads to increased bounce rates – every time someone clicks on an ad they are taken away from your site and to the advertiser’s page. This can be a permanent loss of a prospective customer.
  • You can end up advertising your competitors – because Google AdSense is contextualized if you are a marketing company, for example, you will get ads from other marketing companies on your site.
  • It can appear unprofessional – people hate ads and many have installed ad-blocker applications so they won’t see your ad anyway!

The Growphasis Bottom Line – Should You Use Google AdSense?

As I said in yesterday’s post, it depends largely on what type of website you are running. I wouldn’t recommend AdSense for monetization to sites in competitive industries. This is because you’re likely to advertise the competition and devalue your brand at the same time. Therefore, corporate sites such as Growphasis shouldn’t run ads.

If, however, you’re running a site where there are advantages to advertising other companies then it can be a real money maker. For example, Gamephasis, is a video game news and reviews site. The advantages of advertising on that type of site is obvious. The ads typically seen on that site are products – games and other forms of entertainment – that aren’t directly competing with the site. Rather, they’re the type of content that the site’s audience would like to see. The contextual fit of the ads is a lead generator for the same game developers and publishers that the site already promotes.

Ad serving is a form of website advertising where you make money whenever a visitor clicks on an ad. You, as a website host, sign up with a ad serving provider who you permit to post ads on your site. These ads can be delivered in the form of image or text-based.

The provider determines what the best ads to deliver to your site are. Generally, these are determined by matching industry. For example, we run AdSense ads on the Gamephasis website. This is a gaming and entertainment website. Therefore, when a related advertiser joins Google’s AdSense program Google will deliver their ads to the site. For example, I regularly see ads for video games on my site. This is a good thing as the ads are more likely to be clicked on than if they were something completely unrelated to gaming. This is called contextual advertising.

Occasionally, however, there will not be a gaming or entertainment advertiser running ads. In these cases, I have noticed with a regularity that Google will then deliver something suitable for my local area. For example, when the Australian Federal Election was being held last year my site was bombarded with ads from the Liberal Party.

Pros and Cons of Ad Serving?

Ad Serving Pros and Cons

PROS

It’s very simple to set up

Joining ad serving is very simple to set up. Most of these programs have well-documented guides to help get you on the path. Some of them even have video tutorials. Furthermore, it is very quick to action. Furthermore, anybody can do it. All you need is your website or blog!

There is no time investment involved

Following the initial sign up and installation process where you determine where you want to place your ads you don’t have to do anything. The ad servers do the work for you. These programs allow you to check your profile at any time to check out how you are doing from a financial perspective or whenever you want to change something. But, for the most part, you can let it sit there and not worry about it. Therefore, it is a very simple way to generate additional income.

Ad serving no time investment

With ad serving, you’re not watching the clock

A lot of helpful guides available

If you’re starting out with serving ads then finding the optimal strategy can feel like a daunting challenge. Thankfully, that dilemma has been solved. There are a ton of resources available on the Internet to guide your decision-making process. These guides help you understand where you should place ads, the number of ads you should use, etc. There are even guides that will teach you how to set everything up. This makes serving advertisements a painless experience for newbies.

Customisable

The better ad providers offer high levels of customization. You can choose the types of ads that you want to place on your site. From ads that fit inside of widgets to full-width banner ads that can be positioned wherever you see fit to textual ads that flow within the text of your blog. Therefore, there is a likelihood that you’ll be able to customize the right solution for your needs.

The Cons

You advertise competitors

If you operate in a competitive environment then I would advise against running ads on your site. This is because of the types of ads that Google will run on your site. You need to be mindful that Google will always run ads matching your industry whenever possible. Consequently, this may mean that if you are a marketing company (like Growphasis, for example) Google will regularly deliver ads of your competitors. Do you really want your website visitors leaving your site to go directly to a competitor? Is the modest amount of money you stand to profit from worth losing a prospective customer? I thought not.

It is considered unprofessional…

Although that is the most significant reason against advertising there are other reasons. You need to be mindful of the fact that many people find serving ads to be unprofessional. This widely held opinion has been a major cause for the creation of ad blockers such as uBlock Origin and AdBlock. Ads infuriate these users so much that they use browser add-ons to avoid seeing them entirely.

Furthermore, you are decreasing your own brand’s value. Every ad that you place on your site you are highlighting a brand that isn’t yours. Consider the message that you are trying to portray to your customers and leads. Are other brands something that you want them to see? Does this work for the brand you are building? Could you not use the space to further develop your own brand?

Ad serving is unprofessional

Do you want your site to look like this?

You’re increasing your bounce rate

Most people who click on an ad do not take the time to choose to open the ad in a new tab or window. This means that every time they click directly on the banner they are moving away from your website. Consequently, your bounce rate increases and they may be unlikely to return. Is that a risk that you’re willing to take?

Ad Serving bounce rate

Ad Serving increases bounce rate. This is a massive con.

The Growphasis Bottom Line to Ad Serving

Ad serving is not for everyone nor should it be. I believe that too many people use it without understanding the negative consequences that it can have. However, I firmly believe that there are sites that stand to benefit from PPC advertising much more than others.

From a professional perspective, I would not utilize ad serving on Growphasis. This is because the industry that Growphasis is a part of is highly competitive. I wouldn’t want to put up a contextual ad which would likely result in advertising a competitor. This would simultaneously promote their brand and decrease the value of my own. Likewise, I have advised one of our clients, a mobile travel agent, against running ads on her site. This is because the travel industry is a highly competitive industry too. The little guys must do everything that they can to build a business. The last thing that she would want is a retail giant like Flight Centre or Priceline Group (Booking.com, etc.) to take business away from her.

However, I have utilized and been very successful using ad serving on our sister company’s gaming website. The types of ads that we see on the site advertise games and other forms of entertainment. This is not advertising our competitors but rather the types of products we would likely endorse anyway. This can be a boon as it enables our readers to discover new and exciting games while we make money from them doing so. If they enjoy the game then they can claim to have discovered it through that site. In the end, that’s winning.

In yesterday’s blog, I explained the need for professional copywriters. Similarly, today I will explain you should hire a professional writer. Because I am a long time writer I understand that this is a service that not many people understand is as necessary as it is. Consequently, I am passionate about writing to you today about why I believe you should always work with a professional. I hope to give you a greater appreciation of the value of professional writers.

Why Hire a Professional Writer?

There are many reasons why you would hire a professional writer. It does not matter what the task is.

Pros Have the Experience

Have you ever had a writing task and not known where to begin? This is something that all writers have experienced. As a matter of fact, even pros experience this from time to time. However, the difference between a pro and an amateur is that we have developed the skills to overcome this. And to think that this is only the beginning of a project! In other words, when you need a job done from start to finish pros have the experience to get the job done.

Additionally, we have the experience to get the job done right. Occasionally, this process takes time. Instead of rushing to complete a job we have well developed time management skills. Consequently, professional writers know how to allocate our time to meet specific deadlines throughout the project. This is of great importance because a good reader knows where a text fails. This usually happens when a writer hasn’t allocated enough time in a phase of the writing. A writing task is never as simple as putting pen to paper.

Professional Writer - experience matters

Experience matters

A Professional Writer Understands Audiences

Understanding the audience is a crucial part of writing. A professional writer understands your audience.

Why does audience matter so much? It matters because it determines the type of language and tone that is used. For example, a corporate document may have different audiences. First, it may be the public. If this is the case, the public will not understand jargon they are not familiar with. Therefore, your professional writer will use basic language. This will enable them to comprehend the text. Secondly, the target may be your staff. If this is the case, a professional writer will use insider terminology. Finally, the target may be other companies within the industry. In this event, we will know it is acceptable to use industry-wide jargon as it will be understandable.

At the end of the day, we have a strong understanding of audiences. We will make the necessary adjustments in the text to achieve maximum engagement.

Professional Writer - audience

A professional writer knows your audience

Pros Create Unique Content

If you discovered this blog through Google, hello! I bet there are lots of blogs based on this subject. I am happy that you found us as a result of our great search engine optimization (SEO)! Because of the amount of content on this topic you can visualize how easy it is to copy someone else’s work. A responsibility of a professional writer is to avoid this scenario. Not only is it messy but it may be illegal!

You can trust professional writers to create unique content.  Therefore, when you put your writing task into the hands of a professional you don’t need to concern yourself with copyright laws.  This is because our credibility is on the line. We have forged careers on creating fantastic content that is uniquely our own. Consequently, our ethical standards are important and represent a stamp of who we are.

Professional Writer - Unique

Don’t worry about copyright, be happy with unique content

We Help You Develop Your Vision

You never enter a writing task without a vision or a purpose. However, it’s not always crystal clear. This is likely because it isn’t as fleshed out as it should be. Consequently, I have some great news for you. We’re there to help. One of the responsibilities of a professional writer is to develop your vision. Before we begin any project we will sit down with you for a consultation. We will discuss your ideas and what you want and what you don’t. Ultimately, we will build a relationship so that the end result is exactly what you need.

This may sound simple. However, I can guarantee you that it takes hard work and experience. You’re every bit our audience as much as the text has its own.  This relationship is something you likely will not have with an amateur. If you’re ready to feel valued by a professional then contact us and we’ll make you our priority.

Professional Writer - Relationship

We value our relationship with you

A Professional Writer Saves You Time and Money

Can you utilize your time better than writing that document? Would you make more money completing other tasks? If you answered yes to either question then it’s time to use a professional writer. The bottom line is by putting your work in the hand of a professional you will save time and money.

Unfortunately, people often fail to use a professional because of the cost involved. However, they often overlook the reality. In contrast to the minimal hiring expenses, you could make better use of your time. Additionally, you could even make more money with those other alternatives. Of course, a professional writer will also do a better job than an amateur. If you’re ready to make smarter business decisions then you should hire a pro!

Professional Writer - Time is Money

Hiring a pro lets you make the most of your time

In today’s blog, I will outline why you need to hire a professional copywriter. First, I will explain what the concept is. Secondly, I will provide the reasons why you need a pro. This applies to all companies. However, I have a suggestion for those in industries with complex jargon.

This applies to all companies in all industries. However, I do have an important suggestion for those in industries that use complex jargon. That is to hire a copywriter with specialized industry experience.

What is Copywriting?

Professional Copywriter - Pyramid

The Copywriting Pyramid

It is important to explain what copywriting is. In short, it is the process of writing material for advertising and promotional purposes. Therefore, a copywriter’s job is that of content creation. The result of their work can be seen on websites, emails, advertisements, catalogs, brochures and much more.

Copywriters aim to get their reader to take action. There are different types of actions. These depend on the goal. For example, that action may be to purchase a product, opt-in to an e-mail list, or to engage with a company and their products or services.

There wouldn’t be a day that goes by that you don’t see the work of a copywriter. Consequently, the importance of a true professional copywriter can never be understated.

The Pros of a Professional Copywriter

It will boost sales dramatically. Consequently, you need someone who can create great content.

Light Up Social Media

A copywriter knows how to write engaging content. Engaging content helps you go viral. It is important to realize just how prized this opportunity can be. This is because you are getting people to see your brand and product. The more eyes on your product the better. Consequently, the more viral you become the more selling opportunities you have.  If you want new customers and clientele, put your copy in the hands of a professional!

Your Copy Becomes Consistent

Consistency is regarded as a sign of reliability. The more reliable you are the more trust you generate. Therefore, the more consistent your message the better. Professional copywriters understand this concept. This is gained through experience. They know that each piece of copy is worth more than its singular form. Growth hacking has become one of the buzz words in marketing. But what is it? Is it something that you need?

The term was coined by Sean Ellis, the Founder, and CEO of Qualaroo. He posits that a growth hacker is a person whose true north is growth. By true north, he means any person whose heart and abilities lay in creating rapid growth and development of a business.

Consequently, growth hacking is a complex mixture of marketing activities, brand and product engineering, and data analysis. Growth hackers program these activities to achieve rapid growth in one or multiple areas of a business at the cheapest possible expense. As a result, this generally occurs at the beginning of a business but can be, and has been, successfully utilized in long-established organizations. When undertaking growth hacking, every activity that you undertake should be based on your desire to grow.

Additionally, growth hacking is not a substitute for any other marketing activity. In fact, growth hacking should be a key component of all your other activities. It is a mindset that impacts everything within your business. It even uses the same metrics that marketing activities do; such as increased engagement, conversion, and retention. The difference is in the goals.

Growth Hacking - a delicate mixture

It’s a delicate but workable mixture

What Are Key Growth Hacking Strategies?

Growphasis utilizes three primary tactics within our growth hacking program. These include:

  • Analytics – this includes looking at results of tests and available analytics (think A/B testing, etc.) to improve conversion rates.
  • Paid acquisition – where we use paid tools such as online advertising to draw attention to your business and your products.
  • Viral acquisition – this involves encouraging your customers to utilize word of mouth advertising. The customer receives incentives to share your message.

The balance of which each tactic will work for you varies. It is never a one size fits all scenario. This is why you need experts on your side with a proven track record. If they lack expertise then the result will rarely be what you hope it to be. To be successful you require a professionally tailored program that is constantly adjusted. Thankfully, when you get the balance right it produces magic at a level rarely seen in the business world.

Growth Hacking

These activities will ensure your growth

Why You Need Growth Hacking

Unless you already have as much business as you can handle you will benefit from growth hacking. Growth hacking enables you to perfect your product, to set and achieve measurable goals, test different approaches, to analyze your performance and finally to optimize it. These are key business and marketing functions that are vital components of growth hacking.

The anticipated result of growth hacking is that you will rapidly expand your business. This leads to:

  • Increase brand and product awareness — getting more eyes and ears on your product
  • Rapidly improving sales — a demonstrable impact on your bottom line
  • Increase in brand and product reputation — more credibility leads to new customers
  • Increase in word of mouth advertising — when people delight in your work they want their friends and family to know about it too
  • And much more success in your marketing mix

Growth Hacking – A Recommendation

If you are interested in learning more, I suggest reading Quicksprout’s definitive guide to growth hacking. This is certainly the most comprehensive material that I have ever read on the subject and is well worth the time investment to understand it.

GROWPHASIS Can Help

The Growphasis growth hacking program has proven results. We have worked with over five hundred companies from a range of industries. Let their success be the beginning of yours.

I have been involved in social media management since long before Facebook. I’ve seen the rise and fall of seemingly countless platforms. Each platform has significant differences and nuances. What will work on one does not always perform well on another. Therefore, it is always important to understand what makes each individual platform tick. This is something that is difficult to understand and something that most users never will. Consequently, when it comes to business to succeed you need social media management. It should never be a case of whether you can afford it. Rather, it is a case of you being unable to do without it.

Social Media: A Common Mistake

Fortunately, an ever-increasing number of organizations understand that they need a social media presence. This is without a shadow of a doubt a step in the right direction. Sadly, too many go about finding the wrong solution.

Many believe that to succeed on social media all you need to do is hire a young, energetic, whippersnapper. After all, they use social media more than anyone else. Right? They communicate with their friends, their family, etc, etc. Unfortunately, those companies couldn’t be any more wrong. There is a gulf between using social media as a means of communication and using it as a marketing tool.

The result of this solution is much poorer than expected results at a far too great of a cost. Thankfully, there are organizations, such as Growphasis, who specializes in social media management. We have a deep understanding of all platforms and of the social media tools and software designed to manage it. Furthermore, we’re able to maximize your results at a fraction of the cost of hiring an inexperienced permanent employee.

The Benefits of Hiring Specialists for Social Media Management

It’s very well documented what the benefits of using social media as part of your marketing are. For example, Hootsuite outlines these benefits as follows;

  • Gain valuable customer insights
  • Increase brand awareness and loyalty
  • Run targeted ads with real-time results
  • Generate higher converting leads
  • Provide rich customer experiences
  • Increase website traffic and search ranking
  • Find out what your competitors are doing
  • Share content faster and easier
  • Geotarget content
  • Build relationships
social media management key success

Let social media be a key to your success

However, what is less documented is why you would invest in specialists to manage your social media.

In our opinion, there is a multitude of reasons. Here are the ones that I believe are most important to you:

Demonstrated Knowledge and Expertise

Organizations that specialize in social media have a deeper understanding of how it all works. This is because we’ve made it our business to follow the trends and to stay on the cutting edge. We possess an understanding of every platform.

We’ve found that it is important to listen to your objectives and to work with you on achieving them. This comes from experience. Whenever something happens we understand why. It’s very difficult to predict something as constantly changing as social media. It comes with expertise, with love, and with hard work. This is what social media management specialists have in spades.

Improve Your Time Management

We believe that your time is your money. By hiring a social media specialist, you will improve your time management. Instead of focusing on social media tasks you can focus your energy on reaping rewards elsewhere. Additionally, great social media makes you busier converting all the leads that it generates. Would you rather invest time in converting leads or time fumbling about and potentially losing them?

It Saves AND Makes You Money

Most organizations have three options.

  1. Do it yourself and lose out on making money elsewhere due to the commitments required
  2. You can hire a social media manager who will, likely, not have a proven track record (social media management companies hire the best of the best!). Further, you must consider the additional expenses that hiring an employee brings
  3. You can outsource and hire a proven social media management specialist such as Growphasis at fraction of the cost of hiring your own employee and a history of success

Is it not easy to see how you are saving money with the third option?

By hiring Growphasis you get a specialist team that understands the responsibilities at hand. Consequently, you’re not only going to be saving money, but you’ll be making it as well. By hiring Growphasis, we will generate new leads. We will play a hand in shaping your other marketing decisions and objectives. Ultimately, we will transform your company and help you to achieve your growth goals.

Social media management can be your money maker

In today’s blog, I will be discussing my personal favorite service that Growphasis offers, digital networking. The Growphasis, first of its kind, digital networking program can significantly benefit your organization.

What is Networking?

Networking is the process of establishing mutually beneficial relationships with other business, customers, and clients. This helps you by creating word of mouth advertising. Your organization benefits from increased brand awarness followed by new customers.

Digital networking works the same way. We have taken a traditional practice online. We have done this because of the significance of the Internet today. Everybody is online. The Internet has become the world’s most vital source of information sharing. This is true for local as well as global communities.

Digital Networking is More Than Just Facebook

It takes much more than Facebook to be successful at digital networking. The good news, however, is that all of the activities and commitments you make produce positive results.

When you purchase a Digital Networking subscription from Growphasis, we work with you to produce successful results. These acttivites include:

Listed Directories

We begin by creating your own profile page on our website. You will also get a free premium listing on our sister site, Aussie Report. These directory listings will help you show up in more Internet search results.

Aussie Report Digital Networking

Aussie Report will boost your traffic

Social Media Promotion

Secondly, we will begin promoting your organization through our social media channels. Additionally, we will promote you throughout our partner social media channels that will be beneficial to you.

Third, we will include you in our social media promotions. These promotions are geared towards generating increasing social media followers. This is a fantastic way in which you will generate transformative level leads.

We create these campaigns to be set to a monthly and weekly schedule.

Digital Networking Invitations

Subsequently, you will be invited to our exclusive digital networking groups. By doing this we are providing you a golden opportunity to join likeminded people and organizations.

In the past, this has created powerful partnerships between businesses. You may offer a product or a service that will help another organization sell theirs and vice versa. The result improves both of your bottom lines and increases your customer base.

Unique and Shared Content

We create advertising materials that ensure the success of partner promotions. Some of this material will be utilized by one organization while the others will receive content uniquely their own. The point of this is to ensure consistent marketing material beneficial for all parties.

An example of this content is our coupon program. We will create coupons that promote your business and can be included at point of sale for other organizations. Simply create a promotion and our partners will happily give their customers a coupon advertising your product or services.

Content is King - Digital Networking

Content is king, even in digital networking

What are the Quantifiable Benefits?

What I’ve outlined may sound good to you. However, you need the facts on the result. I’m more than happy to share the quantifiable benefits of Growphasis digital networking with you. There are four primary benefits. The amount of success will vary between businesses. However, it essentially boils down to how dedicated you are to our program. The more you contribute the greater your return on your investment.

The four primary benefits are:

  • Generating qualified leads — every time you’re a part of one of our promotions you will generate a significant number of qualified leads
  • An explosion in social media engagement – We’ve had results that have seen an increase of over 2000% increased engagement.
  • Boosted brand awareness – that increase of qualified leads and social media engagement means that your brand (and products/services) have increased dramatically
  • An Increase of brand reputation – when our partners (and yours) promote your business it means that they are giving your organization a credibility boost thus increasing your reputation.

With such a significant return on your investment, you owe it to yourself to become a member of the Growphasis digital marketing network.

In yesterday’s blog entry I explained the benefits of e-Commerce for your organization. Today, I’ll be writing about why your organization needs search engine optimization, SEO, for its website to be successful.

What is Search Engine Optimization?

Search Engine Optimization is the process that affects the online visibility of a website or individual page in a search engine’s rankings.  The popular Internet search engines include Google, Bing and Yahoo! These are tools that everybody online uses. Therefore, the more optimized the website is the higher the natural or organic its ranking will be.

This basic logic behind search engine optimization but there are many benefits to having an optimized website.

Search Engine Optimization Increases Your Credibility

The natural flow-on effect of being ranked higher is that you gain credibility. People place a lot of faith in search engines such as Google. The higher Google’s opinion of your website the more people will believe you are the real deal.

Search Engine Optimization - Credibility

Credibility builds trust

Search Engine Optimization Spotlights Your Sales Superstar

If you’ve invested in your website to be accessible to your customers, you want them to find them. No, you need them to find you. Your website should be designed and implemented to do what you need it to do. For example, it should generate leads, create sales, encourage and convert opt-ins, etc. Your website should be the most powerful tool that your organization has. Search Engine Optimization raises the awareness of your website. Consequently, this will increase the likelihood that your website will achieve all its targets.

You Need SEO to Give You a Competitive Advantage

The business world is ultra-competitive.  You need to take advantage of every opportunity possible. Your competitors are likely to have websites. They too will be trying to take every advantage that they can get. That means you have a decision to make. You can either compete or you can let them win by default. If you have a well-optimized site, then you’re giving yourself a chance to succeed.

Optimization gives you competitive advantage

Search Engine Optimization gives you competitive advantage

Fantastic Return on Investment

If you have high-level SEO the return you will see on investment is significant. In fact, hundreds of organizations around the world have reported that return is the best ROI they have ever seen on any marketing activity.

Industry standards suggest that companies will see a conversion rate of 2% on traditional advertising. The industry standard for Search Engine Optimization is at least double that. This means that your cost per sale through SEO is reduced when compared to other marketing activities.

Search Engine Optimization is never cost prohibitive but it is a matter of it being a mandatory component of your marketing mix.

Search Engine Optimization Makes You Stand Out

Internet Live Stats reports that there are over 1.2 billion websites online right now.

What this means is that it is remarkably easy to get lost. This is especially true if you’re in a competitive market. If you want to stand out then you need to be optimization. Search Engine Optimization will help you stand out and increase your traffic and ultimately sales!

Great Search Engine Optimization makes sure you stand out!

Happy Monday to you all. In Friday’s blog post I outlined why your organization needs a website. Today, I’m going to outline why your organization needs an e-commerce solution.

To be honest, this is a much more difficult sell. I do not believe that every organization needs an e-commerce solution. This is because I do not believe that every organization stands to benefit from e-commerce. I argue, however, that those that will benefit from e-commerce wi great greatly if it is well implemented.

Who Needs an E-Commerce Solution?

The first question, therefore, that needs to be answered is who needs e-commerce. This is relatively straightforward. Organizations that need e-commerce solutions are those that sell products and services to customers. By consumers, I mean both the public and business to business sales.

Those of you who plan on selling digital products and services will rely on e-commerce. Therefore, this article is aimed towards informing those who sell physical products and entirely non-digital services. Consequently, I advise you to skip towards the benefits component of this blog entry.

E-Commerce Solution

You Need an E-Commerce Solution

Why Services? It Doesn’t Involve Shipping a Product!

Truth be told, organizations don’t take enough advantage of selling services through e-commerce. Unfortunately, the problem with this is that you only achieve a part of the solution when you could be providing it all.

Allow me to provide an example. Let’s say you’re a hairdresser. You have a great site that thanks to advertising you attract a lot of traffic. Your website features a pricelist listing your services and their costings.  Additionally, you may even post special web-only offers and deals on the site. However, you don’t have e-commerce set up. Instead of allowing potential customers to buy their haircut ahead of time and to book in you require them to call or visit to do so.

Sadly, this ultimately leads to lost sales. The number of clients that will forget about you after visiting your site is mind-blowing. People will go wherever is most convenient. For example, if you share a shopping precinct with other hairdressers they’ll walk into your competitor if the pricing is similar. This is especially the case if their location is where they intend on visiting such as a supermarket.  You could have had the sale had you had e-commerce instead of your competitor.

Consequently, I recommend setting up e-commerce. You would sell a range of your services through your store. It doesn’t have to be the exact service if you have similar products. For example, a hairdresser is likely to have different prices for hair length (short, medium, and long). Instead, you could sell gift certificates as well as the services you have specific prices for.

As you can see, you don’t need to sell products to offer your customers an e-commerce solution!

I don’t ship my products. Is e-commerce still right for me?

Absolutely. I’d put you into a similar category as service-oriented e-commerce. You can sell your products online and still expect your customers to pick their products up. In fact, this is a very popular method of e-commerce. Many of the major retailers have implemented this system into their sites. For example, I make many of my tech and entertainment purchases through JB Hi-Fi. However, there’s a store nearby. Instead of waiting for the product to be shipped to me I purchase online and pick up from my local store.

Therefore, there are huge benefits to be made from selling your product through e-commerce for pickup. This also allows you to easily sell the types of product that are notoriously difficult or pricy to ship. Products such as chemicals or that are too expensive due to weight for convenient postage are all suitable for e-commerce.

Website E-Commerce Solution

What About B2B? Can I Benefit with E-Commerce?

Yes. Your organization can benefit with e-commerce. B2B organizations often deal with a significant number of customers and suppliers. E-commerce allows you to have a competitive advantage in that you can automate pivotal tasks including shipping and sales. Therefore, e-commerce provides an increased speed at an affordability price that enables you to benefit from greatly.

What are the Benefits of E-Commerce?

There are nine primary benefits of e-commerce that I want to outline. These will help most organizations regardless of what you are selling.

Lock in Sales

The first benefit is that you provide your customers to lock in their sale. Your website can be the best marketing tool available but if you don’t provide your customers with the ability to purchase through your website they may go elsewhere. This is especially the case when you’re offering a product or service that can be found in many places. Consequently, the more convenience-based your product or service the more you benefit from e-commerce.

Gain Customer Data for e-mail Marketing

E-mail marketing is an opt-in process that many customers will take advantage of.  Your e-commerce platform gives you the opportunity to collect their data to add to your e-mail database. This allows you to send them your latest news, promotions, and deals that they can take advantage of. This encourages repeat business.

Increased visibility

Having a website already increases the likelihood of your organization being discovered. Since this is the case you’ll also be able to increase the visibility of your store promotions. You can market your sales and promotions through your e-commerce site. In turn, customers are likely to confirm their purchase through your e-commerce platform.

High Reachability

Every brick and mortar business owner will tell you that location is everything. This can be great for some and a death knell for others. However, having an e-commerce website allows even those who don’t have a great location to have an opportunity to sell. Of course, this means that you’ll need fantastic SEO  but it gives you an opportunity to succeed. This allows those who haven’t heard or seen your store to discover you online.

By selling your products and services through e-commerce you enable your business to expand into new markets. These markets can be as nearby as a suburb or two over or as far as around the world. Consequently, what you may consider a small local business can have a global reach.

Increased Conversions

By having an effective e-commerce solution, you will achieve a higher conversion rate. This is because you’re no longer relying on brick and mortar alone to achieve your sales. The more conversions that you make the better your bottom line.

Customer Satisfaction and Convenience

By having an e-commerce solution, you are providing your customers 24/7 accessibility. This naturally provides them with the type of convenience that they demand. Even if they must wait to physically pickup or utilize your service they’ve been able to purchase it when and where they want it. This is achieved by providing a quality and desirable platform.

Social Popularity

This is an important asset of your e-commerce solution. Your valued customers can generate word of mouth advertising for your company. For example, if you have a great offer, customers will quickly share it on websites such as OzBargain and social media. Consequently, you’ll gain social credibility and popularity. This can be a Godsend for small businesses.

Reduce Expenses

Selling your products through your e-commerce solution is a great way to increase sales at a low cost. This is basic economics. The more you sell online the lower your cost per sale expenses. Therefore, your bottom line stands to benefit greatly through a well-implemented e-commerce system.

Customer Engagement

E-commerce solutions are a great way to measure customer buying habits and their interests. This enables you to tailor your product/service offerings to their needs. The natural result of this, should you take advantage of this information, is an increased business-customer relationship.

Hello everyone. In yesterday’s post, I gave you five reasons why you need a web presence. However, as I also explained a web presence encapsulates multiple tools. Those are your website and your social media accounts, for the most part. You can have a web presence without having individual components. For example, you could have a website but ignore social media and vice versa. Although I believe you would be silly to ignore one completely, it’s open to debate and for a different time.

Today, I want to delve into why you should specifically have a website established for your business.

It’s Both Cost-Effective and Income Generating

Until now you may have heard how prohibitively expensive a professional web design package may be. I understand that this can be a truly scary prospect. However, the reality of the situation is that once you’ve paid for these expenses the actual maintenance and ongoing service is very cheap. A good website can cost under $100 per month after it goes live. If you compare this to other marketing expenses, such as the time limited placement of ads in newspapers, this is a genuinely cost-effective marketing channel.

Additionally, a well-designed website is not only cost-effective, but it generates a continual stream of genuine leads. It’s the digital version of putting out that newspaper ad without the burden of paying for it every time you want to advertise!

Take advantage of our free web design deal to avoid the high-level expenses of setting up your website!

A Website Increases the Value of your Business

One of the primary benefits of having a website for your business is that it increases the value of the business. This one is straightforward. Because your website drives traffic which in turn drives sales and cash flow to your brick and mortar store. Further, your website is a revenue-generating online piece of real estate adding to the overall capital of your assets.

Although your company may benefit from an e-commerce solution, you don’t need to have one to gain these benefits.

Websites Increase Value

Websites increase the value of your business

Be Instantly Accessible 24/7

Your website is available to your customers around the clock. Very rarely will your site be inaccessible to your customers. They can connect to you whenever they like and almost wherever they are. This is a large departure from the physical world. This provides convenience and generates leads that your business may otherwise be unable to acquire.

It Builds Credibility and Influence

One of the easiest ways to become known as the thought leader in your area is through your website.  Your influence helps you to create a competitive advantage within your area. Your website helps convince people that you are legitimate. A well-structured website creates the credibility you need to generate sales and confidence in your customers.

A Website Helps Achieve Business Goals

When considering what content to put on your website you will need to assess it against the goals of your business. Therefore, a business website will help clarify the goals of your business. Consequently, you will gain a greater understanding of your business. This will help to accomplish your major business goals.

Websites help achieve business goals

Websites help achieve business goals

It Builds a Competitive Advantage

The world is ultra-competitive. Dog eat dog. It is important that you need take advantage of every possible channel that can give you an advantage. You control the message that your current and future customers can see.

You Can Keep Your Customers Informed

When you host a blog (essentially an online diary) you can keep your customers informed. Do you have exciting news about your business? Are you looking to promote a new deal? Write a newsletter or a press release and make it available on your website. Customers really appreciate when they know what’s going on with the organizations that they utilize.

If you have press releases and other copy that you’re looking to write, please consider our copywriting and professional writing services!

It Empowers Your Networking Efforts

We all know how important networking is in today’s business world. What once was a treasure trove for in-person networking meetings is now quickly becoming digitalized. Networking has always created word of mouth advertising. When you have a website, it gives those within your network somewhere to send prospective leads to online. Your business needs to take advantage of this added opportunity!

Take additional advantage by joining the Growphasis Digital Networking program. It’s a first of its kind initiative that is empowering businesses to achieve their growth goals!

Websites empower digital networking

Your website empower your networking efforts

It Serves as a Primary Marketing and Advertising Tools

There is nothing that works as actively as a website regarding marketing and advertising. The best things about it are that you control the message. Further, you’re not competing with other companies for vision in the same space. You know that when someone is on your website that they want you! You simply need to present them with the message that connects to them and you have a new customer!

Your company site enables you to showcase who you are in ways that you never have before!

You can Increase your Market to Gain New Customers

The unfortunate truth is that you physically can’t be everywhere at once. This means that your physical market is narrow. A website broadens your market and increases it exponentially. Therefore, you open yourself up to an increased potential customer base.

Your Website Empowers Time Management

By having the content that your customers are looking for it saves you both time. That’s because you’re not having to answer every question that they may have. Simply have a FAQ component of your website or host pages that present the information your customers require. This is a significant bonus as time is money!

Improve Your Customer Service

Your website will contain a contact us section. This provides customers with the ability to ask you questions, raise issues with your products or service, and provide you feedback. This enables you to improve your customer satisfaction. By doing this you are encouraging repeat customers. Further, great customer service generates word of mouth advertising. Consequently, this is free marketing that works to strengthen your business.

Furthermore, having a website makes it so much easier to have a business e-mail address. Although not always necessary when you have an e-mail address with your business handle (@yourbusiness) most customers will expect you to have a website attached. It’s also much more professional to have a business email address than using a free email provider.

Customer Service - Website

Your website will aide your customer service
